Compact (pocket sized), dual-output LED flashlight designed for self-defense and personal protection. The E2D LED Defender® features a solid-state, two-stage light emitting diode that generates six times the output of a typical two-D-cell flashlight at its high setting and five lumens of useful light (enough to read a map or negotiate a dark path) on low. And should 120 lumens of blinding light not be enough to convince an aggressor to back off, the E2DL's crenellated Strike Bezel® and scalloped tailcap provide two sets of hard-anodized aluminum "teeth" as a last line of defense. Two useful output levels, a long runtime, a hard-anodized durable exterior, compact size, and enhanced personal protection capabilities make this flashlight a great everyday-carry option. Especially for those looking for a self-defense light with a bit more of a bite.

Summary: A terrific carry light!
Comment: I have several Surefire flashlights including the incandescent E2D Defender, the U2 Ultra, G3 and M6. This new LED model is only a little bigger than the incandescent version, but it's twice as bright, and it has a low power setting, too. It has great throw and a nice spill beam. This will be my carry light of choice.

Comment: The following is what I wrote to Surefire the day I received & registered my new E2D:
SureFire is my favorite company to do business with in the world. I'm 62, have been all over the world, bought thousands of products in my lifetime; and can honestly say, that no company makes a finer product; no other company treats its customers with more respect, than Surefire.
For me, no one else even comes close.
I think the secrete to Surefire's success, is that your people still believe in that now out-dated principal, which once was pervasive in our American culture: Honor.

Dr. John Matthews, Surefire's founder, though I've never met him, is someone I admire and respect, as both an innovator, and a great businessman.
(And though I can't prove it - I suspect a fine person as well).
