Sony's 1080p KDL-40W4100 with Motionflow 120Hz technology doubles the number of existing frames by calculating in real time and inserting 60 entirely new frames between the original 60 frames, this creates a new standard for picture performance, with smooth, lifelike image quality that responds to the demands of even the fastest moving images with ease. Full HD 1080p means the W4100 connections accept 1080p signals and the Display will render that signal in Full HD 1080p. Take full advantage of Blu-ray Disc players and PlayStation(R) 3 systems that can deliver 1080p content. The latest version of Sony's respected BRAVIA Engine fully Digital video processor uses a collection of unique SONY algorithms to significantly reduce noise and produce sharp, vibrant, life-like images. With Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) you get real-time image processing to dynamically adjust backlight levels for improved Contrast without masking details the filmmaker intended you to see. ACE delivers deep blacks in darker scenes, as well as fine details in shadows and other dark areas of the picture for a difference you can truly see. Add to that unique features like the enhanced Xross Media Bar(TM) with 3D graphics and integrated TV Guide program information, built-in DMeX functionality, and you can see why we call the W-series the new standard in 120Hz performance. Customer Rating: Summary: JUST GREAT Comment: This product is just great for its price . i got it over the weekend after almost a year's of research and i am totally impressed with this one . Looking for a tv get this one , don't waste time on the other ones .
Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding Television Comment: I researched LCD televisions for several months before finally deciding on the right one for my home. I decided on the Sony Bravia as they are one of the leaders in the industry and I loved the picture quality in the stores.
Once I got the television home, I unpacked and installed the base, very simple, four screws (you will need two people to complete this step to reduce the risk of dropping your beauty). The connections are simple, straightforward and easily accessible.
The picture is to die for. The motionflow technology is truly amazing watching sports, specifically college football (I got the TV just in time to watch Georgia Tech beat Georgia in Athens - GO JACKETS). Sorry, I digress.....
Overall, I am very satisfied with the set and would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a superb mid level television.
Customer Rating: Summary: Stunning clarity; beautiful picture Comment: After purchasing a Sony Bravia 46XBR4 for our family room, I decided to upgrade our master bedroom TV to HD as well (once you go HD you never go back!) I thought the downgrade from the Bravia X series to this would be, well, just that - a downgrade. I was happily proved wrong! This TV features a stunningly crisp picture, vivid colors, no pixelation problems and unlike OP's, I get great clarity even w/o the HDMI cable. It is an absolutely gorgeous TV at a reasonable-for-HD price. Set up was easy, the tools menu could be a little easier to navigate, but none of that will matter once you've seen its true beauty. The integrated sound system is also really good. I have not missed the X-series Bravia features at all, to be honest. You cannot go wrong with this purchase.
I bought mine tax-free at a military base so I can't comment on delivery/price of this, but I will say that overall, Amazon's prices are the best and I have used the white-glove delivery for other items and loved it. I would not hesitate to Amazon it had I not had access to the base.
Customer Rating: Summary: sony w series tv Comment: what a wonderful tv! it looks & sounds great. could not have made a better or cheaper choice! it's not cheap , but cheaper than the store's around here. I highly recommend it.
Customer Rating: Summary: AWESOME TV! Comment: We just purchased a Sony Bravia KDL-40W4100 after searching many stores and on-line. The picture is something else. I have a digital camera and my teacher suggested that a 1080p resolution would be the best. I also wanted a TV with 120Hz. We found the KDL-40W4100 to be within our price range and having the features we wanted. After a little bit of technical difficulties (I'm not very savvy when it comes to setting up connections), we were able to connect our Sony personal DVD player and watch DVDs on the big screen. There, too, the picture was amazing. I would heartily recommend this TV.
