Customer Rating: Summary: A thoroughly enjoyable read Comment: I am not an expert on Jane Austen - have read a few and seen a few of the movies. But, as far as books go, this one is fun.
The "Freaky Friday" transfer of a woman back in time to that era with all the details of the smells, hygiene arrangements, manners, etc. is well written and entertaining. Would be a great book to give any woman who likes to read; perhaps not all males would find it that interesting. It gives the female perspective on all things Victorian.
Customer Rating: Summary: Difficult to Read Comment: What could have been an excellent story started strong and weakened considerably as the plot continued. ~ Affaire de Coeur
Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointment for Austen fans Comment: Fans of Jane Austen beware! For someone who is supposed to be an expert on Jane Austen the author could not have missed the mark more profoundly. Most fans are fans because of the love of well written stories with well developed diverse characters that the reader actually cares about, and for the simple joy of reading without the foul language or sex. The characters in this book are underdeveloped and foul mouthed. Sex is thrown in just as it in a movie for the cheap thrill. Though the basic storyline of a time traveler to the Regency Era has been used before it falls flat here. The book was a disappointment to read. Where was the editor on this one?
Customer Rating: Summary: Another tribute to Jane Austin's addicts. Comment: Great book. Was a very interesting story line...story could have even had an addition...ended suddenly.
Received book in mail in a timely fashion. Thanks.
Customer Rating: Summary: Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict Comment: I found this to be a fun, light read. It made me LOL, at work no less, as I was reading certain parts. I really liked how the author refers back to Austen novels, quotes and characters throughout the story. At one point, while riding in the horse & buggy to church with her parents, Courtney...a.k.a... Jane, looks out and sees Pemberley in the distance.
All in all, this was a very entertaining, very sweet read. I recommend it, especially to Jane Austen fans.
