Containing the most complete version of the Sherman Brothers' score and a wealth of previously unavailable behind-the-scenes treasures, this double-disc, 40th anniversary soundtrack edition becomes the ultimate musical tribute to the beloved family masterpiece. The Sherman's memorable songs are showcased here in a more comprehensive musical context than ever before; indeed, a number of the expanded or previously unreleased pieces of the Irwin Kostal-arranged underscore now included were truncated in editing the film itself. The generous bonus disc contains the set's greatest historical treasure: a 40+ minute pre-production story meeting between the Shermans, gag writer Don DaGradi and author Travers herself. Summary: A great cd to go with the movie
Comment: Another one of Julie Andrews wonderful musical movies! I never thought I'd find Mary Poppins on CD but was very happy when I did! As I then could learn like Mary Poppins how to say Supercalifragilistic backwards which I'm still learning how to do and as it as taken this long I don't think I ever will.

Summary: MY grandson's only favorite movie - and he's not three yet.
Comment: My under three year old grandson in a fit of fever delirium decided that the only thing that would work in his world at the moment (1:00 AM, mid week) was to see Mary Poppins. SO his parents played the old dubbed off cable VHS copy inherited from my daughter's childhood. At that moment it was decided that a new DVD version was mandatory. It doesn't disappoint - at least not him.
