Editorial Reviews:

Death By Degrees brings one of your favorite Tekken characters to the forefront. The ice-cold hottie named Nina Williams will confront demons from her past as she fights to finish a suicide mission. While investigating a high-tech weapon theft, Nina must infiltrate a shadowy organization and reveal a conspiracy on a global scale. Master an incredible variety of weapons, from from firearms toancient swords, and a huge set of hand-to-hand techniques. The intuitive 360 degree combat engine lets Nina counter enemy threats on all sides at any time.

Summary: I can't believe how many people gave this 5 stars...
Comment: I consider myself a fan of tactical espionage. I've played through all of the PS Metal Gears (the games I consider to be the top in the genre) several times. I enjoyed Nina Williams' character in Tekken and the idea of a female lead. Ugh, I should have just avoided it. Not only are the controls poor (everything has to do with the right analog stick) but the camera changes from you being able to control it to not depending on where you are. To run you need to hold R2 but this also switches to an over-the-head view. As you enter a different section, the camera may switch back to fixed or visa versa. How are you supposed to be able to sneak up on people if you can't even control the character well? I already want to throw it away. Horrible, horrible game.

Summary: Almost but not quite
Comment: This Tekken inspired spin-off of Nina Williams is smartly crafted with a combination of action hand2hand combat, special ops missions, & several Tenchu like bone breaking critical moves.

Aside from the VERY annoying 180-degree camera shifting you get sometimes when stepping in between camera angles (you're pointing forward and suddenly you're shifting back to the previous angle), the seemingly forever loading time this game can take (it's graphics aren't that sharp), & the less than interesting game plot. Simply put, Namco is on to something but still few enhancements are needed and with minimal improvements this game can be MUCH MUCH more.

That said, overall this game has a unique personality very well worthy to experience.

Summary: A must for all Nina fans
Comment: I own this game and i'm playing it even after 2 years after I bought it! this game is unique and could be good or bad, but if you have a mind open enough you will like the fantastic fight parts, the incredible number of fight moves, weapon, minigames, and all the amazing stuff you will unlock after completing the game once! Belive me the only flow (except some loading screen too many) of this game is that is very very hard too unlock all the bonuses and some challenges are pretty impossible but better too hard than too easy!

Summary: Could have easily been a Resident Evil...without the zombies?
Comment: reminded me of some of the older resident evil titles (sans zombies) but had that slightly annoying task list that you have to keep completing to go forward in the game. i've played many games where a lot of the harder stages are 'optional,' but this game sometimes throws the kitchen sink right at you!
in a nutshell:
- it's challenging, frustrating, interesting and annoying and then interesting again
- the graphics (especially the cut scenes) are ALMOST PS3 worthy
- the game play itself is a little choppy at first (you 'attack' by moving the right joystick in the direction of your victim) but does get easier the more you play. the special 'bone breaking' attacks are the BEST part of the game!
- i don't really listen to the soundtrack of a game, but i did notice this game had pretty good 'ambient' sounds- enough to make my two dogs think there were real dogs howling!

Summary: Good Actioneer!!!!!
Comment: Take a blend of elements from Onimusha puzzles, Metal Gear gameplay, Resident Evil fixed camera perspectives to an innovative fighting system and you've got DBD. What's best about this game is that it's a solid action title, but what more would you expect from the likes of NAMCO. This game details how exactly Nina Williams and her sister Anna come to the Tekken tournament in Tekken 1. It also gives some background info on the characters through lavish flashbacks. So if you're a fan of Tekken in general or just want a good action title then this might keep you occupied for a while.
