Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Accurate and comfortable digital themometer Comment: The Lumiscope 2210-214 Quick-Read Digital Thermometer fits comfortably in the mouth, is very easy to use, registers the result quickly, and seems to provcide an accurate reading of temperature (I compared it to the reading on a traditional mercury thermometer). The only small complaint is the low sound it emits when it reaches the final temperature -- the sound is so difficult to hear that I was not sure the final reading had been reached. Customer Rating: Summary: Very inaccurate Comment: Tested against another accurate thermometer - this product did poorly. Yes - very fast read (says 10 seconds on the box, instructions say 20 seconds), however, it must come at the expense of accuracy. Used on someone with normal temp (98.6) - reads 96.0. Used on someone with a 99.2 fever (according to another thermometer and personal acknowledgment that they feel like they have a fever) - reads 97.2. Specs show +/- 0.4 degrees F. That's optimistic. Customer Rating: Summary: A great bargain. Comment: There's not much to fault with this thermometer. It's quick and it's accurate. You get two for $11 and if your order totals $25 or more you get free shipping with the "supersaver". That works out to be $5.50 per thermometer. HARD TO BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!
