Hear the phone number of who's calling before answering the phone with the Talking Caller ID. This handy Caller ID unit audibly announces the caller's phone number. It lets you decide if you want to talk to the person calling, without having to get up from what you are doing. It will speak the caller's pre-recorded name or 10-digit telephone number and also display it on the LCD screen. And if you are on the phone it will also annouce your call waiting calls. You can even custom record the names of up to 50 people you know, and it will announce them in your voice when they call. This device is great for people who are busy and do not want to be disturbed by telemarketers. It will announce "number blocked" or "number unknown" for unrecognized callers. Now you won't have to drop everything and run to the phone for someone you don't want to talk to. You can even leave custom outgoing messages for specific callers.
"The Talking Caller ID has many useful features. It stores the last 99 calls and allows you to review them audibly or visibly. Summary: I was spoiled by my old Talking Caller ID
Comment: I bought this product because my old Talking Caller ID (from Radio Shack, which is no longer available)finally died. The ClassCo Caller ID seemed to be the closest to my old one in features, however I miss the features that were on my old one:
On my old Caller ID, if you recorded a name for an incoming phone number, only that name would be announced, and it would be announced multiple times until the phone was answered. Also the recorded name/number could not be erased without some forethought. On the ClassCo model, the recorded name is only announced once, which means you must be near the ID Box to hear who is calling. It also continues with the recorded name's phone number, which I think is unnecessary, and you can inadvertently erase that contact quite easily.
On the plus side, a feature that I do like on the ClassCo is the one that will let you record a private message to a selected number that is stored in the ID box. If you want someone to know that you are out with a friend, or such, and you want the caller to call you later or at a different number, that caller (only) will hear that message when calling your number and can respond appropriately.
Another nice feature on the ClassCo is that you can hand-enter a known phone number and record a name to it and then use the 'dial' feature to call that person without having to look up the number again.
The ClassCo unit performs well and I have no problem with it's quality. I am just more used to the conveniences of my old unit.

Comment: Bought this for a gift for someone who is seeing impaired and he absolutely loves it. I would recommend this product to anyone. His wife says it is nice to not have to go to the caller ID to know who is calling so it saves you the time of going and checking if your busy. Great product!!!

Summary: Announcer voice is clear.
Comment: I purchased an older version of announcer years ago and it just malfuntioned recently. Was well pleased with it, and am very pleased with the new one I purchased with a good price I might add. The first one was close to $60.00. Voice announcer is clear and easy to understand. And the setup is very easy. I have been relying on the announcer for years and could hardly wait until my new one arrived. Purchased one for my daughter as well, and she is very pleased.

Comment: When I received this item several weeks ago it worked fine. Since then the sound quit working and you can't record. I called the company and after dealing with a less than friendly service rep, he finally gave me an RA (return authorization) number so that I would have the priviledge of mailing the unit back (at my expense) for a replacementClassco Classco Caller ID Announce

Comment: I have used this product for some time, this was to replace one that was ruined by lightning. You can attach your personal announcement to any phone number or let it read out the number. In a large family, this alows the correct person to answer a particular call.
