This Sony CPA-9C connects your portable MD or CD player to your car stereo, through the car's in-dash cassette player. It's ideal for use with Sony MiniDisc and Discman CD players. CPA-9C's silent mechanism reduces mechanical noise on the road. And the self-adjusting spring-loaded head maintains optimum contact with your cassette deck's tape head.

Customer Rating: Summary: Works great in my GM truck Comment: This works great in my GM truck (radio by Delco?). Other brands that I've tried would always trigger the cassette eject system. This is the second one I've owned, the first one worked for years before the cassette player started ejecting it too.
Sound is just fine. My car isn't very noisy, but I've never had much use for ultra-high fidelity while driving as there's just too much road noise. This adapter sounds much better than any of the FM transmitters I've tried and is considerably easier to use.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does the job Comment: This thing works just fine for what it does: provide a way to hook an mp3 player into a car cassette deck. The sound quality absolutely beats an FM transmitter. That said, the device itself makes a certain amount of noise--not much, and I've had similar devices that were louder--but you can definitely hear it if the audio you're playing is quiet and your car's noise doesn't overpower it.
Customer Rating: Summary: great Comment: this thing does just what I want it to do, play music. It can be a little noisy at times, but it sounds much better than most fm tuners. Just get one and stop shopping around.
Customer Rating: Summary: what worth you pay Comment: I bought the sony cassette adapter for connecting my ipod to my old car. It is a really good and worthy stuff for its great quality and easy use.
The small problem is that the interface is too simple (only 1 mini-plug). Sony should improve it to adapt more audio device outputs. That is the reason why I give it 4 stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: not horrible for the price Comment: I was happy with the cassette adapter initially. I use it for my ipod and the sound quality is much better than the fm transmitter i was using. But after just a few uses, when inserting the cassette, the stereo gives an error saying "check tape" and i have to eject and reinsert the cassette several times before it works properly.
